Shadows Rise: Prologue

“You can sense them growing stronger, can’t you?” a rather old black tom with a muzzle gray from age meowed.

“With each passing dawn, I can sense their blood thirst grows,” a pale brown she-cat agreed. “If we do not act soon, we will be destroyed completely.”

“What should we do?” another cat called from one the branches of a nearby tree, her green eyes glowing luminously in the dark. “How will we fight off such strong enemies?”

“Will we be destroyed?” a smaller gray and white tom, about apprentice age, cried.

“Calm down,” the old tom snapped. “I have a plan, I wanted to save it for a last resort, for it is dangerous and could bring harm to both the users and the innocent bystanders. But we have no choice, if the Clans are to survive, we must use it.”

Murmurs rippled through the assembled cats, a mixture of worry and excitement. “What happens if they manage to taint our plan? What will happen if they mess around with it?” the same green eyed cat hissed.

“Then, all hope will be lost and we will have to accept our destruction!”
